VGS Wall System Features
The VGS panel form factor is 6 feet by 2.5 feet (just a little smaller than a standard door). A fully planted panel weighs 40 pounds and is a self-contained, independent unit. This allows the panel to be easily transported and installed fully grown. In addition, they can be changed out in less than 5 minutes.
The panels are sealed. This means the only water required for the panel is what the plants consume. Thus,our systems overcome one of the stumbling blocks of current green wall systems and they may be planted in hot and dry climates without wasting water.
We capture and recycle every drop of irrigation water in a small reservoir. The root zone of the panel is not just sealed, it is also insulated. For example, the panel surface might be near 110 degrees F, yet the root zone is a mild 85-90 degrees.
We advise that the small reservoir be buried. The ground passively cools the irrigation water and removes heat from the wall. In Winter, the recycled water is warmed in the reservoir and as it pumped into the wall heats the roots zone.
